‘This fantastic looking unusual shaped Micralite Super-lite stroller is a real lightweight…’
This fantastic looking unusual shaped Micralite Super-lite stroller is a real lightweight. It has been designed to be easy to use, as it is so maneuverable. With its light Aluminium frame, the small front swivel wheels make it easy for cornering whilst the air-filled rear wheels give a smooth comfortable ride especially over rough terrain.
The rear wheels are easily detached if you want to save space and with its umbrella style folding, you can fold with one hand. It has a removable hood and comes complete with raincover and shopping basket, it is suitable from around 6 months, but also available is the car-seat/travel system or add the Micralite infant carry cot (sold separately) to form a pram. It has the shape of a 3-wheeler pushchair but is practical and lightweight like a stroller.

We’ve had a Micralite Super-lite for 18 months – my husband chose it after reading hundreds of reviews, because we wanted something very light weight to replace our wonderful but heavy Peg Perago Skate pram.
I don’t find it very visually appealing myself, but people stop us all the time and marvel over it. It’s fantastic for hot weather, because of the meshed seat, and very easy to push.
I have had some problems steering it, because the front wheels are much wider than the back wheels or the body of the buggy itself – they stick out and easily get caught, or sent spinning, if they so much as graze a curb or a parked bicycle. Several times I’ve almost gone over the handlebars – that can happen with most buggies if you’re unlucky, but it seemed to happen rather more often with this one.
The main problem we’ve had is with the handle. We fitted the extension ‘bull horn’ handlebars, which you can add if you need a pushbar rather than the awkwardly angled handles it comes with. This worked really well for a few weeks, but the extended handlebar quickly became ‘floppy’. We’ve tried to tighten it with molegrips and all sorts of things, but it’s made no difference. Pushing when the pushbar is flying all over the place, as if it were unconnected to the buggy at all, is tricky and hard on your hands. So if you need a pushbar, I wouldn’t recommend this.
