I bought an Aria about 8 months ago, because I had loved the Peg Perago Skate pram (not a bad word to say about it) but it was getting a bit heavy with a two year old inside. I chose the Aria because it was from a manufacturer I had a very high opinion of, and super light.
On the plus side, the Aria is very pretty, has lots of easily accessible storage space and a hood which is very effective at keeping out rain. My son loves it, because it’s spacious and at 2 years old he really enjoys the play tray.
Everything was fine for the first 4 weeks, when I was using it every other day. Then (as I’d read in some US reviews), the front wheels began to get strangely stiff, making the buggy hard to steer. Basically, I’ve now learnt that it doesn’t matter if your buggy weighs under 6kg, if the front wheels are this stiff you may as well be pushing a shopping trolley full of bricks. Steering it as low speeds has become almost impossible – I have to shove it with all the force I have. To turn corners, I have to tip it up on its back wheels to get it to move around a bend. Oiling the front wheels has made little difference. It has made me fit, but the wear and tear on my back, legs and arms is now so great I have to buy something else. So, £200 not well spent.
